Life as an internally displaced person in Ukraine:
Ukraine's Donbas war has raged on for more than 8 years claiming 14,000 lives. As a consequence, 1.4 million internally displaced people (IDPs) fled the region for safer areas, one of which is the city of Kharkiv. On its outskirts, near the airport lies a 'module' home system funded by the German government providing temporary residence to IDPs. The elderly are present in larger numbers due to a shrinking population and many Ukrainians leaving for abroad. Now, Ukraine faces the prospect of invasion and with that, harsher living standards.
